About Mourer-Foster Mourer Inc. was founded in 1933 when O W Mourer began an all-lines insurance agency in Lansing, MI. In 1955, George Foster Jr. and Glen Wilkerson purchased the stock of the corporation and changed the name to Mourer-Foster, Inc. Mr. Foster and Mr. Wilkerson continued their dual ownership until 1960, when Mr. Foster bought Mr. Wilkerson’s interest and became the sole owner of the agency. In February of 1988, George Foster III and John Foster purchased all outstanding shares of the corporation to form the current ownership. The shares are now owned on a 50/50 basis, currently George is the Chairman and John is the President. In addition to the main office in Lansing, Mourer-Foster currently has an office in Grand Rapids. Our experienced, professional staff continues the tradition of providing the best solution for your insurance and bonding needs, in Michigan and throughout the nation.
